What You've Missed Just This Week...
Freedom. We all want more of it, yet live in a world of inherited cultural norms and values that for many, keep us stuck and conforming to the status quo.
Add to it all of the recent events taking place in our country, and many people are feeling anything BUT free.
But itβs our human nature to want to be free. As little children we want to run wild and express ourselves in the moment. And yet, as we grow up into adults in a world so riddled with rules, restrictions, and societal judgement, our freedoms gradually get taken away.
Youβve been feeling a little βoffβ lately, and you just canβt seem to shake it. Could it maybe be your morning routine (or lack of an intentional one) that could supercharge you from just ok to AMAZING?
Hereβs the things about morningsβ¦ they happen everyday. And if youβre starting everyday letting how you feel, your social media (other peopleβs lives), or your giant to do list drive your day, chances are you may be left feeling anxious, pulled in every direction, and, well, a little βoffβ.
Thereβs a reason everybody is talking about the importance of having a good morning routineβ¦ but doing the things everyone is recommending is NOT the answer. Youβre a unique snowflake :) - but seriously - weβre all born with different bodies, different neurochemistry, and having different lives. So whether you wake up to a house full of kids that need your attention, or youβre not a morning person, there are a few simple hacks everyone can implement and get amazing results from. It just requires a little discipline (more on this later) and a good reason WHY you want to do it.
Life purpose.
It sounds daunting and huge. But in my view, itβs really what your life has led you to do RIGHT NOW. You may have a job you love, or one you hate. You may be a mother or father, an entrepreneur - whatever you are and however you define yourself, life purpose is the CONSCIOUS choice you make for your life in that moment.
You may spend your life pursuing your life purpose, and that is AMAZING! The goal of our lives is not to finally βget thereβ. There is no finish line. If you wake up everyday happy, loving what you do and who you are, I would define that as βlife working for you.β

Our brains are hard wired to seek certainty, making judgements about what is βsafeβ and predictions based on past programming. And amidst any sort of threat - whether perceived or real - your brain triggers our own biology into feelings of anxiety, fear, and panic.
Enter 2020, when the entire world was turned upside down with a pandemic. Without warning, everyoneβs life was disrupted - emotionally, financially, and experientially.
For our brains, the experience of uncertainty is both cognitively taxing and anxiety producing. In fact, when all neurological resources are directed towards fearing uncertainty, your ability to make decisions, assess situations with clarity, and even your ability to learn is disrupted.
So how do you move forward, let alone achieve your goals and find inner peace during times of chaos and unpredictable change?
