Can you make money doing what you love?

Do what you love and actually make money from it? How is that possible?

It's so funny - I actually never asked myself that for 48 years of my life...and because of that, it's now what I do in my business - to help people discover your personal blueprint and money code so that you can live a life doing what you love, and loving your life  because of it.

Hi! I'm Shana. I'm a business owner, a dog lover, a bit of an introvert. I'm all about holistic health, uncovering solutions, strategic thinking, obsessed with neuroscience, and approaching everything by maximizing your personal style.

At my core, I'm a bit of a rebel. I regularly speak my mind in purposeful pursuit to help others, and fight to help people - the heart centered, purposeful geniuses of the world, to escape what I call the "Matrix" of the online business world - AKA the status quo.

I call it the "Matrix" because that's exactly what it felt like to me. When I started my business, learning to navigate as a business owner in the online world was a bit challenging. After 25 years as a high level Marketing Director for regional shopping centers and international retailers in Los Angeles - including the famed Rodeo Drive, the online world is much different than the physical business environment. In addition to the masses of competition, there is a lot of distraction - which adds a whole new layer of complexity to just breaking through the clutter, no matter how spectacular you think you are.

There I was, with my 25 years of business and marketing experience winning awards and achieving success - I just wanted to use what I knew about business and marketing to help people.

I wanted to help people, make money, and make a difference - and I couldn't understand why it seemed like no one could see me - let alone hear me. Why people with less experience than me seemed to be rolling in clients and dough - and me with lots of expertise and life experience - surrounded by crickets. I was frustrated - no I was MAD - and yet determined to figure this online business world out.

And it wasn't until I finally decided to invest in myself and actually believe in myself - put myself to the test that I could take everything I KNEW ALREADY and use THAT to create my success - that everything came together.

And everything was great, until I decided to slow down. I was drowning in clients, burnt out, and no amount of money could make that go away.

And then something bad happened. I fell into what I now call "The Facebook black hole". The "Facebook black hole" that sucks people in, steals your high value, your once high standards, and where cookie cutter business models become the norm. In the Facebook black hole, your once inspired expertise and self confidence, becomes buried in the masses of other people's successes.

Genius doesn't belong in a box. And you can't do things the way everybody else is doing it. You believe in having a purpose, want to love what you do, help people, be inspired, and most of all, have a life. You want to love what you do - online and offline.

I created TOTAL GENIUS to help people discover your genius - your brand DNA. It’s the solid foundation of your business based on who you are and what you love so that you can actually have a business that makes you rich - from the inside out.

And then, one day I suddenly woke up. I woke up to the cookie cutter fog I was in. I started to see the hole I had fallen in, was the same hole many of the other intelligent, heart centered, and purposeful creative people had fallen in.

I saw people losing their self esteem. People with LOTS of experience in their fields, were now made to feel like they didn't know anything, spending thousands of dollars on false promises of success. And all the while, not understanding their personal value - their identity - just as I had done.

Oprah says "if something taps you on the shoulder to pay attention, if you don't pay attention, a rock will hit you on the head. And if that doesn't work, a boulder will fall on top of you."

In my past I've had those boulders drop on top of me. I've endured my world being turned upside down and losing my identity twice.

I survived my neighbor calling me chink everyday I would walk to school when I was 5 until I was in high school. While kids can be cruel, this one incident left a serious mark on who I thought I was. Robbed of any confidence of who I was to become, I spent almost all of my life, not feeling good enough. Despite the awards I won, the achievement in my professional career; despite the money, the friends, the "great" life, inside I always felt like I was beating myself up in my mind for not being good enough. I wished I was everyone except me - looking to others and seeing their best qualities, and silently wishing they were mine.

I now, I see that was actually a gift. Because I developed an EYE. I developed an eye for the best in EVERYTHING. My friends wanted everything I had. I had an eye for style. An eye for the best products. And an eye to help the people and places that came into my life, to identify those best qualities in themselves and help THEM be successful.

But more boulders were actually on my way. I lost my mom - my best friend and soul mate - my identity to all things I knew to be true. She died suddenly, and what I knew to be my life went through a downward spiral after that – with the loss of my job during the economic decline in 2009, the loss of my father who was heartbroken from the death of my mother, and the onslaught of a health condition that forced me into 3 failed surgeries and left me with a daily misery that challenged my soul. My life had fallen to a new low, and I ultimately realized that not only had I lost everything I knew to be my life, but that I had lost my spirit and everything I knew to be my identity.

My life had fallen to a new low, and I ultimately realized that not only had I lost everything I knew to be my life, but that I had lost my spirit and everything I knew to be my identity.

After surviving those major downfalls in my life - the boulders that fell onto my path - it was when my business started failing after falling into the "Facebook black hole" that I saw the rock and wasn't about to let it turn into the once familiar boulder of doom.

I realized that if I didn't grow as a person, that my business wasn't going to grow either. I decided to CHANGE it. I had never been one to follow the crowds, and having my own business was not an exception. I decided to CHALLENGE the boring, cookie cutter entrepreneurial business model. I was determined to take that boulder and turn it into a golden nugget.

And this is where you come into the picture. After falling into the Facebook black hole,  I noticed there were a lot of other amazing people that had fallen into this black hole as well. There was this consistent, underlying theme of fear and overwhelm, lack of self esteem, and lack of understanding your value - that was truly holding people back. Fear and overwhelm caused by the consistent comparison game on social media, and lack of self confidence and knowing your value which happens from not understanding your genius. It causes poor decisions, doing things in your business that doesn't drive sales, spending a lot of time spinning your wheels (and not selling!) and losing your passion, drive, and sense of self in trying to drive your business.

Otherwise known as your happiness.

What is missing is knowing the insider secrets, learning a marketing mindset, marketing strategies, Mastering Your Money Code.

With my 25 years of business and marketing experience managing multimillion dollar retail and shopping center locations, including the famed Rodeo Drive, winning awards for innovation and being coveted for who I was, I decided to DISRUPT the status quo.

I created TOTAL GENIUS and The Masterclass, to help people discover your genius - your brand DNA. It's the solid foundation of your business based on who you are and what you love so that you can actually have a business that makes you rich - from the inside out.

After years of studying neuroscience, human behavior, and psychology, I discovered not only how to overcome my own mental blocks and health challenges, but that I could use this empowering, game changing intelligence to help my  who were also challenged with breaking free of the status quo environment. I discovered that they not only needed help to create their unique businesses and discover their purpose but to find a way to combat their own self doubt, learn how to believe in themselves and their unique talents, and to find a way to package all of that information into one profit generating business.

TOTAL GENIUS was born out of the need to disrupt the cookie cutter entrepreneurial industry and develop a new way of approaching your business - from the inside out.
